Official appeal issued by the General Administration Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh, regarding the ongoing second phase (Population Enumeration) of Census 2027 in snow-bound areas (01 to 30 September 2026). Citizens are urged to cooperate with enumerators, register at their current place of residence to avoid omissions, and are assured of strict data confidentiality under the Census Act, 1948 (exempt from RTI and inadmissible as legal evidence).

Official order issued by the District Magistrate, Kullu, under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, making police verification and registration mandatory for all outside/migrant labourers, domestic helps, tenants, and street vendors across the district to maintain law, order, and public safety. Hotel, homestay, and guesthouse owners must also compulsorily record identity proofs and mobile numbers of all staying guests. Any violation is punishable under Section 223 of BNS, 2023.
