 IGNOU, one of the largest universities in the world was founded to impart education by means of distance and
 open education
, provide higher education opportunities particularly to the disadvantaged segments of society,
 to encourage, coordinate and set standards for distance and open education in India and strengthen the
 human resources of India through education.
         IGNOU currently serves approximately 1.4 million students in India and 35 countries abroad in eleven
 schools and a network of 58 regional centres, 7 sub-regional centres, 1400 study centres, and 41 overseas
 centres. Approximately 10% of all students enrolled in higher education in India are enrolled with IGNOU.
 IGNOU offers 125 academic programs comprising 1100 courses at certificate, diploma and degree levels. In
 addition, a number of non-accredited extension and skill-oriented programmes are on offer through the
 twenty-one Schools.Kullu College is having study  center of IGNOU.

                              Career Guidance,Councelling and Placement Cell

   Career Guidance,Councelling and placement activities have become an integral part of functioning of
 educational institutions which provide a number of opportunities to the educated youth. With the objective of
 helping students in making right career choice and providing them placement opportunities through campus
 interviews, a career Guidance,Councelling and placement cell is actively involved in such activities. During the
 past two years as many as 8 placements have been done through campus interviews for handsome pay
 packages.

                                             Tutorial Groups

  Tutorial groups will be formed of the students of BA-I,BSc.I and B.Com I at the beginning  of new academic
 session. Each Tutorial group will consist of hundred students. In their tutorial class students can discuss their
 problems and challenges face to face with their tutors.Those,who don't attend the tutorial classes are fined.

                                              College Magazine

  The college brings out its annual magazine 'Devdhara' that provides an opportunity to the budding student
 writers to express their creative, innovative and analytical views on various issues of significance. The
 magazine has six sections viz.English,Hindi,Pahari,Sanskrit,Science and Commerce. For each section, the staff
 Editor selects a suitable, vibrant student editor. Students willing to contribute their write ups to the college
 magazine can contact these editors.

                                                    Hostels

 The College has 2 tribal hostels, one for girls and other for boys each having capacity for 84 students.
 In girls hostel for the session 2007-08 only 30 seats are available.
          Students belonging to other categories can also seek admission to both the hostels. Admission shall be
 given strictly on merit basis.
          Application forms will be available in the college library and can be procured on the payment
 of Rs 2/-per form. Failed boarders will not be given admission to the Hostels.

                                           Scholarships/Concessions

 The College offers the following Scholarships and Concessions:
         i)  Govt. of India Scheduled caste/tribe scholarship.
         ii)  Poverty cum merit scholarship.
         iii) I.R.D.P Scholarship.
         iv) O.B.C Scholarship
         v)  Maharishi Balmiki Chhatravriti yojna for Girl Students.
         vi) Half fee concession.
  If two male wards of the same parent are getting education in the college, only one will be eligible for the
 scholarship. Fee concession will be given to the poor but brilliant students on the recommendation of fee
 concession committee. If two brothers are studying in the college, only the senior one will be considered for
 the concession.

                      The scholarships are awarded to the students as per norms and rules prescribed by the
 department. The students should apply for these scholarships through an application recommended by
 the tutor and submit it in the college office. Only those students who are regular in the college rolls his/her
 name should not be struck off from the college roll and has at least 75% lecture attendance)
 and obtained minimum passing marks in all subjects in the house examination are eligible for the award
 of scholarship/concession.
